What is a Task?
A Task is where knowledge becomes practical capability. Each one presents a concrete objective inside a controlled scenario so you can investigate, make decisions and demonstrate what you learned with verifiable evidence.
Tasks are the units of hands-on work in a course. Depending on the learning path, a Task may represent a vulnerable machine, an application, a service, an analysis case or a sequence of related objectives.
What you will find
Section titled “What you will find”A Task may include:
- context and a learning objective;
- instructions and authorized scope;
- lab resources or access details, when applicable;
- one or more fields for submitting flags;
- points and progress state.
The number of Tasks, their organization and the required resources depend on each course. Some paths group them into stages; others may use a different structure. SpartanOps appears only when it is part of that course experience.
Some Tasks use a resource that must be started before work and stopped when finished. The available controls depend on the course: stopping may be manual or managed automatically by the platform. Always follow the course-specific guide, such as Working on a CPPJ Task.
