Flags, scoring and progress

A flag is evidence that you reached a technical objective inside a Task. When submitted, Spartan-Labs validates that it belongs to that activity and records the result in your progress.

Every Spartan-Labs flag uses this format:

SPTN[uuid-v4]

Submit the full string, including SPTN[ and ], without extra spaces or line breaks.

  • Each correct flag awards the points configured for that objective.
  • A solved flag does not award points again.
  • A Task may require one or more flags to be considered complete.
  • Flag quantity, Task value and total score vary between courses.

The platform may show progress through solved flags, accumulated points, completed Tasks and course percentage. Restarting a resource does not award points again for previously recorded flags.

Solutions for course Tasks may be shared when their specific rules allow it. Exam content—including flags, targets, screenshots and solutions—is always confidential.

Review the certification rules before starting an attempt. For CPPJ, also read Community content.
